Primary responsibilities for this position are to direct technical support for product sales to assigned Swine Veterinarians and producers; design, conduct, monitor, analyze, and report on product support field trials; assist in product technical training to sales and marketing personnel; assist in identifying and developing product opportunities or strategies to bring new products or ideas to market; and investigate and analyze clinical disease problems through problem resolution strategies.

The qualified candidate will have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree with an excellent knowledge of swine production and health. A candidate with an advanced graduate degree or board certification is desirable. A minimum of 2 years' experience in a swine practice or production system is required. The qualified candidate will also have strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills. Also, candidates will require basic computer skills.

Adjunct instructor position, Iowa State University

The Iowa State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory is offering a postgraduate training program in veterinary pathology. The program provides experience and training in gross and microscopic pathology and interpretation of diagnostic tests. Opportunities are also available for training in related disciplines, including toxicology, virology, bacteriology, and immunology. Approximately 75% of the individual's time will be assigned to providing diagnostic service to practicing veterinarians under the supervision of staff pathologists and in collaboration with other diagnostic laboratory personnel. The remaining 25% will be available for independent study. The ISU-VDL, within the Department of Veterinary Diagnostic and Production Animal Medicine, emphasizes diseases of food-producing animals and provides ample opportunity to gain extensive experience in diseases of swine and cattle. Accessions from other species (cats, dogs, sheep, goats, horses, laboratory animals, and wildlife) are received in smaller numbers. Completion of this program affords partial fulfillment of the training requirements necessary for eligibility and certification by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists. It is expected that the trainee will pursue a graduate program leading to the MS degree and (or) a PhD in Veterinary Pathology.
Required qualifications: DVM or equivalent degree from an AVMA-accredited college of veterinary medicine; one or more years of clinical practice.
