AASVF-Zoetis Foundation Student Debt Relief Grant
The AASVF-Zoetis Foundation Student Debt Relief Grants are awarded to swine veterinarians to offset a portion of their student loan debt. The intent is to relieve some of the burden associated with the significant financial cost of completing a veterinary medical education. The scholarships are funded through a grant provided by the Zoetis Foundation and awarded through the American Association of Swine Veterinarians Foundation.
Ten $7500 grants will be awarded during the 2025 AASV Annual Meeting.
The following criteria will be used to select the awardees:
1. Graduated from an AVMA-accredited college of veterinary medicine
2. Joined AASV as a student while pursuing a veterinary degree
3. Maintained continuous membership in AASV since graduation from veterinary school
4. Is at least 2 years and at most 10 years post-graduation from veterinary school (2015 through 2022 DVM/VMD graduates for grants to be awarded in 2025)
5. Career focus has been 50% or more devoted to swine since graduation
6. Currently has a student loan debt burden
Previous recipients of either the Dr. Conrad and Judy Schmidt Family Student Debt Relief Scholarship or AASVF-Zoetis Foundation Grant are no longer eligible to apply for either opportunity.
